Migrant Advocacy Group Named in US Secret Dossier Rejects Intimidation

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 07th March, 2019) The director of Border Angels, a San Diego-based nonprofit whose advocates have been to the US southern frontier to witness abuse of migrants by US border guards, told Sputnik it will not be intimidated by reports that its activists have been put on a secret list for further scrutiny.

Leaked documents seen by NBC have revealed that the US Customs and Border Protection has reportedly compiled a list of 59 journalists, lawyers and activists labeled as "suspected organizers, coordinators, instigators, and media," and plans to question them at US-Mexican border checkpoints as part of a national security investigation.

"We are outraged and have advised our lawyers. There has been criminal behavior by the border patrol and it has been by Border Patrol and we have called them on it. Tear gassing children, forcing migrants to walk back over gate, Border Patrol Chief Rodney Scott lying about incidents at border, BP chasing migrants to death and more. We will not be intimidated," Enrique Morones said.

Several caravans of migrants hoping to resettle to the United States arrived at the US-Mexican border throughout last year. Thousands were living in squalid conditions for months as they waited to be processed. The story received wide media coverage.
