Kuwaiti official arrives in UAE for Special Olympics final meetings

Kuwait's National Special Olympics Director Rehab Buresli arrived in the UAE on Tuesday to attend the final meetings of the Special Olympics World Games Abu Dhabi 2019

KUWAIT, (Pakistan Point News - 06th Mar, 2019) Kuwait's National Special Olympics Director Rehab Buresli arrived in the UAE on Tuesday to attend the final meetings of the Special Olympics World Games Abu Dhabi 2019.

In a statement to the Kuwait news Agency, KUNA, Buresli said that the Kuwaiti team is ready for the tournament and the players hope to achieve several medals to see the flag of the country high in this international forum.

She noted that 54 players will represent Kuwait in eight games: basketball, handball, football, badminton, bowling, athletics, weightlifting and table tennis.

"The Special Olympics is a global sports movement that creates a new world of integration with the community for people with disabilities," added KUNA.

The Special Olympics World Games Abu Dhabi 2019 will take place from 14th-21st March, with 7,000 athletes and 3,000 coaches representing more than 170 countries. The Games will see the biggest humanitarian sporting event in the world coming to the UAE, marking its first debut in the history of the MENA region.
