Flight operations restored at Multan Airport

The first flight departed for Dubai from Multan International Airport.

Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 6th March, 2019) The flight operations have finally restored at Multan Airport.

The first flight departed for Dubai from Multan International Airport.

Fight operations continued to remain suspended at Multan airport since February 27.

All the airlines were informed about the resumption of flight operations.

All domestic and international flight operations were suspended last week on Wednesday after Pakistan shot down two Indian fighter jets for violating Pakistan's airspace.

Several airlines, including Emirates, Air Canada and Qatar Airways, had suspended flights to Pakistan owing to closure of its airspace.

Etihad, flydubai, Gulf Air, SriLankan Airlines and Air Canada also suspended services to the country and flight tracking portals showed Singapore Airlines, British Airways and others were forced to reroute flights.

On Saturday, the flight operations were resumed at Quetta, Karachi, Islamabad and Peshawar but flight operations continued to remain suspended at Sialkot, Multan and Faisalabad and Lahore airports.

Following slight ease in intense standoff between nuclear-armed Pakistan and India, flight operations at Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore, were partially resumed after four days on Sunday.
