Less Than Third of Russian Companies Have Plan, Budget for Cybersecurity Risks - PwC

Less than a third of Russian companies include cybersecurity risk management in plan and budget from the very beginning of their projects, compared with over half of companies worldwide, a study by PwC consultancy revealed

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 05th March, 2019) Less than a third of Russian companies include cybersecurity risk management in plan and budget from the very beginning of their projects, compared with over half of companies worldwide, a study by PwC consultancy revealed.

The study involved 3,000 business executives from around the world, including 63 Russian companies. PwC asked them about how organizations are ready to address issues related to digital business, risk management and ensuring compliance with legal requirements and standards in this area.

According to the survey, 53 percent of respondents worldwide say that preventive risk management measures are an integral part of their projects from the very beginning, but this figure is just 30 percent among Russian respondents.

Less than 15 percent of Russian companies know potential attackers on their digital assets, compared with 31 percent of companies worldwide, PwC said.

Responsibility for cybersecurity and data protection is properly assigned to senior managers in 39 and 40 percent of companies worldwide, respectively, the survey revealed. In Russia, these figures are 24 percent for cybersecurity and 21 percent for data protection.
