Does Pak Prime Minister deserve Nobel Peace prize? Khan says he is not worty of award

Demand for Nobel Peace Prize for Prime Minister Imran Khan by thousands of his fans and supporters took an interesting turn on Monday when the cricketer-turned- politican himself came forward and said he was not worthy of the prize

LAHORE (Pakistan Point News - 04th March, 2019) Demand for Nobel Peace Prize for Prime Minister Imran Khan by thousands of his fans and supporters took an interesting turn on Monday when the cricketer-turned- politican himself came forward and said he was not worthy of the prize. "The person worthy of this would be the one who solves the Kashmir dispute according to the wishes of the Kashmiri people, and paves the way for peace and human development in the subcontinent," he said in a tweet.

His statement again won admire of senior anayltsts who took to the tweeter to call him stateman, but the question raises in minds that does Khan realy deserve a Nobel Peace Prize. If awarded, he will be second Pakistani to win the pretigious awrd after the young education activist Malala Yousafzai. And ofcours overall third Pakistan who won the award as scientists Dr Abdusalam had already co-shared it in Physics. The demand for Peace Award for Khan surfaced when he announced to release Indian Air Force (IAF) officer Wing Commander Abhinandan, who had been captured after his MiG 21 aircraft was shot down by a PAF.

He had then declared the the pilot release "a peace gesture" though religious elements and some political parties had criticised the announcement. But worlwide independet analyts termed Khan’s announcement a great move to deescilate the tenision between the two South Asian nuclear negigbors. His announcment also won the same praise in India. Soon after the captive pilot was handed over to the Indian authorities on Friday on Wahga-Atari border, a Twitter hashtag “#NobelPeacePrizeForImranKhan” started trending in Pakistan with many Indians social activits also proposed the move.

There are reports that some 300,000 social media activists signed the pitiions for Peace prize for Khan. A resolution already tabaled by the PTI in National Assembly in this regard which the prime minister had played a sagacious role in reducing recent tension between Pakistan and India which was created due to warmongering attitude of the Indian leadership. It said that the aggression manifested by the Indian leadership had brought the two nuclear states to the brink of war, endangering lives of tens of millions of people on both sides of the border.

However, the situation was averted due to its proactive and deft handling by the prime minister. “Keeping in view his contribution towards peace in the region, PM Imran Khan may be given Nobel Peace Prize,” concluded the resolution. In this overall scenario, the quesion comes in mind does Imran Khan really desre Nobel? It is trickey, though. Khan is already world acclaimed philonthoropist who built a state of the art cancer hospital for the free of poor and needy. He introduced concept of third empire in cricket and considered one of the best capatains of game history. This is all okay but despite that it can’t be said precisely that all these credits would help him to win the Nobel. And it is beacuse the nobel committee took into consideration different aspects before taking the decision. So, Khan’s supporters are needed to be waited for this.
