HESCO Urged To Resolve Issues Of The Consumers

HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 05th Nov, 2016 ) : The Member National Assembly Syed Waseem Hussain has urged the Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (HESCO) to resolve issues of the consumers.
According to a press release issued here on Saturday, the MNA met the HESCO's Chief Executive Asadullah at his office where the two discussed complaints of the consumers. The MNA advised the HESCO chief to form committees at the Circle level which would hold public hearings in order to ensure swift redressal to the complaints.
Husasin also proposed swift action against the HESCO staff involved in creating exaggerated utility bills and imposing unfounded detections. The HESCO chief assured the MNA that all steps would be taken to satisfy the consumers and address their issues.
He said it was the company's priority to resolve the consumers' complaints pertaining to the electricity bills. Asadullah apprised the MNA that a special consumer complaints cell was being formed in that regard while the customer complaint centers at the levels of division and subdivision were being activated.
He said HESCO would undertake an overhaul of the electricity supply system during winter season in order to address the low voltage problems during summer. However, he underscored that the consumers who default in payment of the bills or the people involved in the power theft would not be provided any service.
The HESCO chief also informed the MNA that an outstanding amount of over Rs. 71 billion was payable by both the public sector and private consumers.
