'Close Coordination Vital For Dispensation Of Speedy Justice'

RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 05th Nov, 2016 ) : Former Lahore High Court Chief Justice Khawaja Imtiaz Ahmed has said that higher judiciary had played the vital role in maintaining the rule of law and a close coordination among of all the stakeholders was vital for dispensation of speedy justice.
He was addressing the District Judicial Conference on 'upholding of the rule law' organized here at the District Judicial Complex in connection with 150th anniversary celebrations of the Lahore High Court (LHC).
Khawaja Imtiaz Ahmed said peace, progress and prosperity in the country were only possible with the provision of justice. The topic of rule law had always remained under discussion and judicial system of various countries proved that the foundation of justice was based on the rules.
If element of justice was removed from laws then laws became ineffective, he added. He said justice safeguards a society from unrest and the rule of the law should be the top priority so that everybody gets justice and nobody becomes victim of injustice.
District and Sessions Judge Bahadur Ali Khan said on the direction of LHC Chief Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah ceremonies were being held across the province in connection with 150th anniversary of the LHC and all stakeholders were participating in them in Rawalpindi.
He said the courts system was being upgraded on modern lines with the help of the IT system for the speedy justice. He said all cases filed in Rawalpindi till 2013 had been decided and the remaining backlog of cases will be ended soon.
District and Sessions Judge Bahadur Ali Khan, DCO Rawalpindi Talat Mehmood Gondal, Saira Bashir Dar Principal Muslim Law College, CPO Rawalpindi Israr Abbasi, Azam Sroya, Malik Kahdam Hussain, Atta Rabbani, Raja Muhammad Ajmal, Javed Iqbal Bosal and others were also present on the occasion.
