Dengue virus situation in Tharparkar is under control: Nawab Taimor Talpur

MITHI,UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 05th Nov, 2016 ) : The Advisor to the Sindh Chief Minister Nawab Taimor Talpur has said that Dengue virus situation in Tharparkar is under control and all dengue affected patients were being provided proper treatment in public sector hospitals.

Talking to the media during visit to the civil hospital here on Saturday, Nawab Taimor Talpur said that he was on visit to review the dengue situation on the directives of chairman Pakistan Peoples Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Chief Minister Sindh, Sayed Murad Ali Shah and would submit his report to them about the situation.

There were 182 dengue affected patients in Tharparkar out of them only 28 patients were reffered for further treatment in the hospitals of Karachi and Hyderabad while rest of the patients were being provided proper treatment in Mithi civil hospital as well as other Taluka head quarters hospitals in other cities of the district, he said and added that most of the patients were discharged from the hospitals after their complete recovery.

Nawab Taimor Talpur said that there were no reports of any casuality due to dengue fever, as provision of best treatment facilities in public sector hopsitals of Tharparkar.

He said that all dengue virus affectees were being provided treatment facilities free of cost.

Before visiting the civil hospital the Advisor to the Chief Minister held a detailed meeting with the district administration at DC office, where Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Zaman Narejo briefed him about dengue virus situation in the district.

The Deputy Commissioer told the meeting that administration had taken all required steps to provide proper treatment to the dengue affected people and anti mosquito spray was being conducted in different parts of the district to prevent the occurrence of the disease.

The meeting was informed that anti mosquito nets were being distributed among the people as precautionery measures and 0.5 million nets had been distributed among the people during last three years, the Deputy Commissioner added.

The Advisor to the Chief Minister was also informed that separate wards for dengue virus affeted patients have been established in the government hospitals of the district. Member Sindh Assembly Dr. Mahesh Kumar Malani, Additional Deputy Commissioner II, Khuram Shehzad, District Health officer Dr. Chandar Kumar and others were present in the meeting.
