Flight operations restored at Lahore Airport

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) officials said that all the airlines have been informed about the restoration of flight operations.

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) officials said that all the airlines have been informed about the restoration of flight operations.

The Karachi-bound flight of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is expected to depart at 9:45pm while Jeddah-bound flight will take off at 11pm.

According to the notification issued by CAA, the domestic and international flights have been rescheduled. The passengers have been directed to seek information from helpline 0215 before leaving for airport.

Earlier, the CAA had decided to keep Lahore Airport closed till March 4 in view of the security situation.

Flight operations continue to remain suspended at Sialkot, Multan and Faisalabad airports besides Lahore airport.

Meanwhile, the flight operations have been restored at Karachi, Islamabad, Peshawar and Quetta airports.

Pakistan's airspace remained closed on Wednesday and Thursday amid escalating tensions with India.

Several airlines, including Emirates, Air Canada and Qatar Airways, had suspended flights to Pakistan owing to closure of its airspace.

Etihad, flydubai, Gulf Air, SriLankan Airlines and Air Canada also suspended services to the country and flight tracking portals showed Singapore Airlines, British Airways and others were forced to reroute flights.
