Providing Facilities To Players A Must For Hockey Revival: Shahbaz Sr.

MULTAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 05th Nov, 2016 ) : Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) Secretary Shahbaz Ahmed Sr. said here Saturday that there was dire need for providing all facilities to hockey players for revival of the national game.
While talking to APP by telephon, Shahbaz said that hockey grounds should be constructed in all major towns of the the country, along with other facilities including hostels, gym, and mess system etc for the players.
He said that the main cause of downfall of hockey game is that youngster are not interested in the game, adding that they play the game just for timepass.
He said that laying of astro-turf in hockey grounds was also necessary for promotion of hockey game.
Shahbaz said that maximum hockey events should be conducted at gross-roots level. The federation was organising league for promotion of the game, he revealed. He called upon the hockey players to focus on their game instead of finding benefits in it.
