ROME, (Pakistan Point News - 01st Mar, 2019) The UAE Embassy in Italy participated in the First Regular Session of the Executive board Bureau 2018 of the World food Programme, WFP, that concluded on Wednesday in Rome, the capital of Italy.
The three-day event began by electing Egyptian Ambassador to Italy and Permanent Representative to United Nations Organisations in Rome, Hisham Badr, as chairman of the Executive Board Bureau of WFP.
The meetings discussed a number of issues on the agenda related to the WFP and stressed the importance of working to strengthen partnership and cooperation among the relevant UN organisations, especially the World Food Programme, to assist national governments in implementing the goals of sustainable development and ending hunger in the world by 2030, as well as mobilising more funding through strengthening partnerships with international financial institutions.
