Pak-Iran STEP-5 international conference concludes

The Step-5 international conference has strongly recommended Muslim scientists and their countries to further enhance science and technology collaboration between Islamic countries and beyond

KARACHI (Pakistan Point News / NNI - 01st March, 2019) The Step-5 international conference has strongly recommended Muslim scientists and their countries to further enhance science and technology collaboration between Islamic countries and beyond.The conference recommends establishing science and technology virtual hub to facilitate the communication and networking, and establishing a university and other research centers network among Islamic World, Iranian and Pakistani scientists said.

They were speaking at the concluding ceremony of the 5th Science and Technology Exchange Program (STEP) International Conference held at the International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS) University of Karachi (UoK) on Friday.ICCBS Director Prof. Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Choudhary, Prof Dr. Rassoul Dinarvand, Prof Dr. Rassoul Dinarvand, Director Nanotechnology Research Center, Adviser to the Minister Home, Iran, and many other scientists from different countries including Iran and Pakistan also spoke on the occasion.

Iranian renowned Mustafa (pbuh) Science and Technology Foundation (MSTF) and Pakistan's eminent research institution Dr. Panjwani Center for Molecular Medicine and Drug Research (PCMD) of ICCBS - University of Karachi jointly organized the global science conference.Over 500 eminent scientists from 40 countries participated in the conference, entitled, "Health Challenges of Communicable Diseases (CDs) and Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs)."These experts were from 40 countries, including Iran, Lebanon, Indonesia, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Finland, Jordon, USA, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Oman, Sweden etc.

The conference held scientific and technological panels, STEP talks, round tables, keynote addresses and invited talks focusing on the areas of influential actions to overcome health-related challenges lying in the Islamic World, latest development to overcome challenges arising from CDs and NCDs in the Islamic World.Prof. Iqbal Choudhary said that the international center was one of the finest research initiations in the world. The center focuses on collaborations and joint ventures with the leading institutions of the different countries, he said.

Talking about PCMD, he said that the center has over 150 young research scholars registered in M.Phil. and Ph.D program.Prof Dr. Rassoul Dinarvand said that they were trying to provide mobility assistance to young scientists. Iran encourages collaborative research among Muslim countries, he said.The participants of the meeting appreciate the excellent organization of the program and the overwhelming hospitality of the ICCBS, University of Karachi and in particular the dedication and commitment of the leadership, he said, adding that Pakistan is hospitable and peace loving nation.In the end, Prof. Iqbal Choudhary, Prof Dr. Rassoul Dinarvand and other foreign delegates distributed the certificates among the participants.
