MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 01st March, 2019) Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov during his upcoming visits to Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait will discuss preparations for the Russian-Arab cooperation forum, which will be held at the ministerial level in April, the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Friday.The tour of the regional countries will be held on March 3-7.
"Specific aspects of preparations for the Russian-Arab cooperation forum, the next ministerial session of which will be held on April 17 in Moscow, as well as issues of resuming joint work within the framework of the strategic dialogue 'Russia GCC [the Gulf Cooperation Council]' will be addressed," the ministry said in a statement.
According to the ministry, Russia and the Gulf countries have various common tasks, including maintaining continuing political dialogue, boosting trade and investment cooperation, coordinating promising projects in energy, industry, agriculture, and peaceful use of space. Special attention is also paid to issues of enhancing humanitarian ties, especially cultural exchanges and cooperation in the field of tourism, the ministry added.
