Pakistani Scholars Urged To Apply For UK's Chevening Scholarships

ISLAMABAD, Nov 5 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 05th Nov, 2016 ) : British Deputy High Commissioner, Mr. Patrick Moody has urged the Pakistani scholars to apply for United Kingdom's prestigious Chevening Scholarships till November 8.
Chevening Scholarships are awarded to individuals who demonstrate leadership potential and who have strong academic backgrounds, said a news release issued here. The scholarship offers financial support to study for a one year master's degree at any UK university and the opportunity to become part of an influential global network of 46,000 alumni.
Applicants must have sixteen years of education and two years work experience at the time of application. The Deputy High Commissioner, Mr. Patrick Moody said, "Anyone who wants to challenge him or herself and develop his or her leadership potential should apply for a Chevening Scholarship.
A master's degree from a prestigious UK university opens doors in Pakistan and around the world.
As importantly, through living in the UK, experiencing British academic life and meeting classmates from around the world, you will learn a huge amount about the world and about yourself.
"The Chevening Scholarship programme sent a record number of scholars to the UK this year for post-graduate degrees and we expect these numbers to rise in the future." Mr. Hassan Shah who is a lawyer and social entrepreneur and a Chevening Scholar said "The Chevening Scholarship was a life-changing experience for me.
I would strongly encourage everyone who is eligible to apply." In addition to the one year master's, the Chevening-Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies (OCIS) Fellowship and the Chevening/British library Fellowship are also being offered. The applications for the Fellowships also close on November 08, 2016.
