Negative labeling against Islamization of laws be discouraged, participants: IIUI Moot

Participants of a three-day national conference on "Islamization of Laws in Pakistan: An overview of the Role of Constitutional Institutions" have noted that prompt justice is facing delay and called upon state for its timely provision

ISLAMABAD (Pakistan Point News / NNI - 28th February, 2019) Participants of a three-day national conference on "Islamization of Laws in Pakistan: An overview of the Role of Constitutional Institutions" have noted that prompt justice is facing delay and called upon state for its timely provision.The conference was organized by at Shariah Academy of International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) in which participants agreed that Islamic laws were not only confined to punishments, while stereotyping against Islamic laws be discouraged.

Speakers opined that few political elements in the past put adverse impact on laws and few laws were unnecessarily politicized which resulted in loss of their importance. They also agreed in the recommendations that it is the responsibility of the government to provide prompt justice to an individual.Justice Faez Essa, Judge Supreme Court on Thursday addressed the conference in a session, where he highlighted the global challenges and solution to those problems in the light of Islamic teachings.

He stressed same be observed when it comes to application of Islamic laws.He discussed importance of biodiversity, global warming, climate change, water conservation saying that those all concepts were taken from Islamic teachings and history, he also gave various examples accordingly. Responding to a question in the end of session, he said legislation was the task of parliament , laws can be explained by judiciary, he said. He also shed light on the importance of community service in the society.

The concluding ceremony was addressed by Justice Retired Fida Muhammad Khan as chief guest who hailed the Shariah academy for bringing the top most researchers and experts to have thoughts on important topics of conference. He also reminisced his decades long relationship with the IIUI.The conference was also addressed by IIUI President Dr. Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweesh who discussed Islamic laws and application in the Muslim societies. He also discussed bilateral cooperation between IIUI law departments and Shariah academy in the legal field.

He appreciated the recommendations and said the conference has paved way to discuss these issues on an international forum.In 10 sessions of the conference Judges, law academicians, experts, senior media personnel, teachers, researchers, lawyers and scholar discussed ideas of Islamization of laws, role of the constitutional and future prospects in various sessions of the conference in as many as 52 research papers.The participants aimed at evaluating the ways and mechanisms provided for the Islamization of laws in Pakistan and to identify the laws Islamized so for and critically evaluate.

The participants also scrutinized the impediments to the process of Islamization of laws and they also identified the future prospects for Islamization of laws. Last day's sessions were also joined by Chairman Council of Islamic Ideology, Dr. Qibla Ayaz, Vice Chancellor Ripha University, Dr. Anees Ahmed, Famous religious scholar Maulana Zahid Al- Rashidi , IIUI Vice Presidents and other relevant officials.Earlier, Justice Faez Essa called on IIUI President Dr.

Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweesh at his office, where issues pertaining to role of universities in legal education, and importance and promotion of Arabic language were discussed.The Justice took keen interest in Arabic learning and teaching, while IIUI President briefed him about service of IIUI in this regard. He also briefed him upon bilateral cooperation between IIUI and KSA educational institutions in the field of Arabic and law. NNI
