The Pakistan armed forces are in a state of readiness for all eventualities: ISPR
Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 28th February, 2019) The Pakistan Army has been put on high alert along the Line of control (LoC) with all required safeguards along Eastern Border in place to thwart any Indian aggression.
Pakistan Air Force and Pakistan Navy have also been directed to stay fully alert, a statement by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.
The development comes amid heightening tensions between India and Pakistan and the possibility of war.
The Pakistan armed forces are in a state of readiness for all eventualities, the statement read.
The ISPR also directed the public to stay mindful about rumour mills and stay responsible in use of social media.
During the last 48 hours, Indian troops resorted to increased cease fire violations in Kotli, Khuiratta and Tatta Pani Sectors along LoC. Pakistan Army troops responding effectively, the statement added.
Indian deliberate firing on civilians claimed four lives besides injuring two.
There are reports of casualties to Indian forces and damage to Indian posts as well.
The decades-long row between India and Pakistan, saw renewed tensions after two Indian jets were downed by the Pakistani air force.
The retaliation is likely to amount to a limited escalation and has chances of developing into an armed conflict.
