Mohamed bin Zayed, Singaporean President discuss ties, regional and international developments

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and President Halimah Yacob of the Republic of Singapore, today discussed relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries in addition to a number of issues of mutual interests.

SINGAPORE, (Pakistan Point News - 28th Feb, 2019) His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and President Halimah Yacob of the Republic of Singapore, today discussed relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries in addition to a number of issues of mutual interests.

During the meeting held at the Istana, the office of the President of Singapore, President Yacob welcomed the visit of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed to Singapore, hoping that it would contribute to enhancing the relations between the two friendly countries and meet their future aspirations.

The meeting tackled ways to further develop bilateral relations and boost cooperation between the two countries, especially their cooperation in the trade, economic, investment, tourism, cultural and educational fields.

The two sides also exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues of common concern.

During his meeting with the Singaporean President, Sheikh Mohamed conveyed the greetings of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and his wishes to the Singaporean people for further progress, development and prosperity.

He expressed his aspiration to further strengthen the UAE-Singapore relations, deepen them and push them forward with the great opportunities for development, growth and prosperity in the country.

His Highness highlighted the UAE's interest in benefiting from the Singaporean development experience as part of the UAE's efforts to benefit from the distinguished experiences achieved by various countries in order to support the development process and accelerate economic development in the country.

Sheikh Mohamed highlighted the UAE's support for efforts aimed at achieving security, peace and regional and international stability, as well as its humanitarian initiatives and role in promoting the values of tolerance, dialogue and coexistence among different peoples and countries in the world.

For her part, the Singaporean President welcomed the visit of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed, wishing that it would help in boosting cooperation relations between the two countries and the friendly peoples.

The President of Singapore held a luncheon in honour of His Highness's visit to her country.

Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed also wrote in the visitors' book on the occasion of his official visit to the Republic of Singapore.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Anwar bin Mohammed Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs; Suhail bin Mohammed Faraj Faris Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Industry; Hussain bin Ibrahim Al Hammadi, Minister of Education; Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development; Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of Climate Change and Environment; and Dr. Sultan bin Ahmad Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of State.

Also present were Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Affairs Authority; Mohamed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, Under-Secretary of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's Court; and Mohammed Omar Abdullah Belfaqeeh, UAE Ambassador to Singapore.

The meeting was also attended by Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan, Minister for Foreign Affairs; S Iswaran, Minister for Communications and Information and Minister-in-charge of Trade Relations at the Ministry of Trade; Dr. Mohammed Malki bin Othman, Senior Minister of State for Defence and Foreign Affairs; Benny Lee, Principal Private Secretary of the President, as well as senior officials.
