Russia has seriously increased energy exports to Poland in the first three quarters of 2018, with gas and coal supplies having grown more than twofold compared to the same period last year, information provided by the Russian Trade Representation in Poland to Sputnik on Wednesday reads

WARSAW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 27th February, 2019) Russia has seriously increased energy exports to Poland in the first three quarters of 2018, with gas and coal supplies having grown more than twofold compared to the same period last year, information provided by the Russian Trade Representation in Poland to Sputnik on Wednesday reads.

The total value of Russian energy supplies to the Polish market increased by about $3.5 billion.

"After a multiple increase in the supply of oil products from Russia to the Polish market in 2017, its growth slowed, but nevertheless remained in place. In the first three quarters of 2018, compared with the same period of the previous year, the growth amounted to 51.6% (an absolute increase of $353.8 million). At the same time, the physical volume of supplies increased by 12.3%," the document reads.

Both Poland's imports of Russian natural gas and coal increased more than twofold - by $890 million and $367 million respectively.

In turn, the total cost of oil supplies increased by 39.5 percent, or by $1.8 billion.
