Bidding For 67 FM Radio Licenses To Be On Nov 7, 8

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 04th Nov, 2016 ) : Bidding for FM radio licensing of Phase-IX has been scheduled on November 7 and 8 at Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) Headquarters.
PEMRA is offering licenses for 67 cities across the country and pre-qualified companies have been invited to participate in the bid, a press release issued here on Friday said. PEMRA will award at least one FM Radio license in each city, adding the bidding process will be constituted by the PEMRA committee, set up for this purpose.
The committee will open sealed bids in presence of authorized representatives of the bidders in the first round. The second round will be through open outcry and determine successful bidders.
The FM radio license will be awarded to the successful bidder after completion of all the legal requirements including clearance and permission from the ministry of interior, provincial governments, where the station is to be established after approval of the authority.
In order to ensure quick access to information, for the first time in the PEMRA' s history the bidding process will be live streamed on official accounts of PEMRA on twitter and facebook, "@reportpemra" and "report pemra", respectively. A hashtag has also been generated for the convenience of the public at "#FMBid."
