IGP For Ensuring Four-tier Security To All Police Training Colleges

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 04th Nov, 2016 ) : Inspector General Police Punjab, Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera on Friday directed to provide four-tier security to all Police Training Colleges and Centers and conduct regular combing operations around these training institutes.
Presiding over a meeting at Central Police Office to review security arrangements of Police training colleges and centers across the province, he directed to further improve inside and outside patrolling system of Police Training Centers.
He said concerned Regional and District Police Officers should ensure at least two surprise visits a week to check security and brief Police officials deployed on security duty about the sensitivity of their responsibilities and stay attentive during duty.
The IGP said monitoring and control rooms of all training centers should be more active and Commandant or principal of training center should check security arrangements inside and outside the training center by making at least three visits in a week in different times at night.
Directing Police officers about improvement in security of Police training institutes, the IGP said, Police personnel deputed for security of Police training institutes should be fit, active and of not more than 30 years of age.
Duty hours should not be more than nine hours and it should be scheduled in three hours duty and three hours rest break, he added. He said that bullet proof jackets and helmets should be provided on priority and security officials and snipers should be deployed on roof-tops of barracks and lecture halls of training institutes.
Regular firing practice of Police officials deployed on security duty should be ensured, he said and added that importance should be given to bunkers and vantage points and deployment of LMG armed snipers in these bunkers and vantage points should be ensured.
Automatic weapons and binoculars should be provided to security officials deployed at O.P check posts, he directed. The IGP said that monitoring of areas behind and adjacent to Police training colleges and centers should be given significant importance and patrolling and security duty in these areas should be beefed-up.
He said panic button and siren horns should be operational in all Police training colleges and centers so that the whole center could be informed in any situation of emergency. Senior police officers, commandants and principals of all Police training colleges and centers were also present in the meeting.
