Sharjah Consultative Council discusses policies of SAIF, HFZA

Khawla Abdul Rahman Al Mulla, Chairperson of the Sharjah Consultative Council, chaired the eleventh meeting of the fourth ordinary session of the ninth Legislative Chapter, to discuss the policy of the Sharjah International Airport Free Zone, SAIF, Authority and Al Hamriya Free Zone Authority, HFZA

SHARJAH, (Pakistan Point News - 23rd Feb, 2019) Khawla Abdul Rahman Al Mulla, Chairperson of the Sharjah Consultative Council, chaired the eleventh meeting of the fourth ordinary session of the ninth Legislative Chapter, to discuss the policy of the Sharjah International Airport Free Zone, SAIF, Authority and Al Hamriya Free Zone Authority, HFZA.

During the meeting, held at its headquarters in Sharjah City, the Sharjah Consultative Council, SCC, members stressed the importance of enhancing trade and economic cooperation between Sharjah and all other countries, highlighting the available investment opportunities, facilities, and incentives provided by the emirate in various vital sectors.

The meeting was attended by Sheikh Khaled bin Abdullah bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Member of the Sharjah Executive Council, SEC, Chairman of SAIF and HFZA, and Saud Salim Al Mazrouei, Director of SAIF and HFZA, in the presence of other dignitaries.

Al Mulla highlighted the SCC’s keenness to accord the utmost importance to promote the essential roles of the SAIF and HFZA, emphasising their efforts to attract foreign direct investment, transfer of technology, increased exports, the creation of new employment opportunities and the development of various skills.

Commenting on the role of the two authorities, Al Mulla highlighted their efforts aimed at increasing trade exchange, scaling up of exports, and increasing the foreign exchange resources.

During his speech, Sheikh Khaled lauded the efforts of the SCC and its commitment to boost the development of SAIF and HFZA, stressing that the two authorities are constantly working to enhance the national economy and diversify income sources.

Sheikh Khaled and Al Mazrouei briefed the attendees on the mechanisms of the two bodies and their role in the development of businesses and attracting various investments.

Sheikh Khalid pointed out that the percentage of Emiratisation in the top management was 100 percent, and in the other departments between 70 and 80 percent, besides the interest in the environmental aspect and the intelligent transaction-switching, in order to facilitate the services for customers.

Al Mulla announced that the next meeting will be held on Thursday, 7th March, and will discuss a draft law on the reorganisation of the University of Sharjah and a draft law on the establishment and organisation of the Sharjah Centre for Astronomy and Space Sciences, as well as discussing the recommendations of the Free Zone Authority in the emirate of Sharjah.

Concluding the meeting, Al Mulla announced the organising of a seminar on investing in people and their role in future civilisations, on Monday, 25th February, 2019, at 09:30, at the headquarters of the SCC.
