PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 04th Nov, 2016 ) : The tall claims of PTI-led provincial government of transparency and merit based appointments in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa proved mere eyewash as blue-eyed junior officers were being appointed against senior positions in the government entities.
Merit has been violated in the appointment of Managing Director of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Technology board (KPIT Board) as the junior most amongst the probable has been assigned the task of MD, whereas favourites were posted against the posts of Legal Advisor and Director Project in the IT Board.
On the alleged recommendation of a provincial minister, the MD KPIT Board was appointed on a monthly Rs 700,000 package, the credible sources informed that KP Ehtesab Commission has taken notice of the alleged irregularities in the appointment process and initiated investigation.
According to the documents available, atleast ten years experiences was required for the post of MD for which many eligible candidates had applied who had more then 10 years experience in their credit.
But violating the merit, the competent authority appointed Dr Shahbaz on the post of MD despite the fact that he had four years working experience after his PhD. It merits a mention here that University of Engineering and Technology (UET) has dismissed the leave application of Dr Shabaz, Professor of UET and asked him to report on duty on November 8.
Similar junior officers are holding charge of the senior positions in various other provincial government departments including Police, C&W, Health, education, Livestock, Public Health Engineering and Irrigation. APP/ayz-adi/bmq
