Shipping Activity At Port Qasim

KARACHI, Nov 4 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 04th Nov, 2016 ) : Four ships C.V Mehuin, M.V Industrial Edge, M.T Bneider and M.T As-Olivia carrying containers, project cargo, diesel oil and phosphoric acid were allotted berths at Qasim International Container Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal, FOTCO Oil Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Thursday.

Berth occupancy was observed at eh Port at 47% on Wednesday where a total of seven ships namely ships C.V Mehuin, M.V Bos Anggel, M.V Industrial, Edge M.V Bonanza YR, and M.T Gas Esco, M.T Bneider and M.T As-Olivia were occupied PQA berths to load/offload containers cement, project cargo canola seeds, chemicals, diesel oil LPG and chemicals respectively during last 24 hours.

Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood 71,947 tonnes, comprising 58,478 tonnes import cargo and 13469 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 1,100 containers TEUs) 600 imports TUEs & 500 TUEs exports was handled at the port.

Three ships, M.V Bos Anggel, M.V Bonanza YR and M.T Gas Esco sailed out to sea on Friday morning, while two more ships C.V Mehuin and M.V industrial Edge are expected to sail on same day afternoon.

A total of six ships C.V Sun Francisca, C.V Hansa Agrica, m.V Diamond Sea, M.V Rainbow Lucky, M.T Cretan Wave and M.T Mehmet scheduled to load/offload containers, cement steel coil, seeds and palm oil are expected to take berths at QICT, MW-1, MW-2 FAP and LCT respectively on Friday, while container vessel Safmarine Ngami is due to arrive at Port Qasim on Saturday, Newark is due to arrive on Sunday.
