PID Asked To Adopt Modern Techniques Of Publicity To Promote Positive

ISLAMABAD, Nov 4 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 04th Nov, 2016 ) : Minister of State for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Marriyum Aurangzeb on Friday asked Press Information Department (PID) and Ministry of Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage to adopt modern techniques and tools of publicity in the field of social media to promote and project positive image of Pakistan.
She gave these directives during her visit to PID where Principal Information Officer (PIO) Rao Tehsin Ali Khan briefed the minister of state regarding working and functioning of Press Information Department.
Secretary IB&NH Saba Mohsin Raza and senior officials of the ministry were present on the occasion.
The minister said that the present democratic Government believes in freedom of expression and would continue to facilitate the growth and development of independent media in Pakistan.
She directed the officials to ensure transparency and fairness in the working of PID and follow key performance indicators driven performance plan. The officers of PID also apprised the Minister of State about various challenges confronting them in the discharge of their professional obligations. Marriuyam Aburangzeb assured her full support and assistance in this connection.
