Israel, Czech Republic Preparing to Sign Number of Military Deals - Netanyahu

Israel and the Czech Republic are preparing to sign a number of military agreements during the joint meeting of the governments of the two countries, which will be held in the near future, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Tuesday

TEL AVIV (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 19th February, 2019) Israel and the Czech Republic are preparing to sign a number of military agreements during the joint meeting of the governments of the two countries, which will be held in the near future, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Tuesday.

"We intend to hold another similar visit very soon in the format of a meeting of the two governments in Prague, where we hope to conclude a number of important agreements, including some in the military sphere," Netanyahu said during talks with Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babis.

In turn, Babis said that he hoped to strike a deal on the acquisition of mobile air defense radar from Israel.

Before the meeting with Babis, Netanyahu met with his Slovak and Hungarian counterparts.

Previously, the summit of the Visegrad Group which comprises Hungary, the Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia was slated to take place in Jerusalem on Tuesday, but Poland cancelled its participation in the event.

Warsaw's move came after Netanyahu's comment on the Poles' collaboration with the Nazis, as well as acting Israeli Foreign Minister Yisrael Katz's allegations on Poland's involvement in the Holocaust.
