MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 18th February, 2019) The Russian side of the Russian-Turkish commission monitoring the implementation of the Syrian ceasefire recorded 10 truce breaches in the country over the past 24 hours, while the Turkish side recorded as many as 31 ceasefire violations, the Russian Defense Ministry's Center for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides in Syria said on Monday.
"Over the last 24 hours, the Russian party of the Russia-Turkey Commission on violations of the Joint Agreement has registered 10 cases of firing in the provinces of Latakia (5), Aleppo (3) and Hama (2).The Turkish side has registered 31 cases of ceasefire violations in the provinces of Latakia (14), Aleppo (9), Hama (7) and Idlib (1)," the center said in its daily bulletin.
Over the given period, the Reconciliation Center did not hold any humanitarian actions.
Russia has been assisting Damascus in the settlement of the civil conflict in the country for years. The Russian military aircraft supported anti-terrorist operations carried out by the Syrian government forces when the war was still in its most active phase. Now, as most of the heavy fighting seems to be over, the Russian military carries out regular humanitarian actions across Syria and assists with the repatriation of thousands of refugees.
