ISLAMABAD (Pakistan Point News / NNI - 16th February, 2019) Islamabad police have arrested 998 outlaws during last 30 days and recovered looted items more than Rs. 75.6 million including 38 cars and 27 bikes from them, a police spokesman said.Following directions of Inspector General of Police Islamabad Muhammad Aamir Zulfiqar, he said that Deputy Inspector General of Police (Operations) Waqar Ud din Syed directed all police officials to accelerate efforts against anti-social elements and ensure their arrest.

As per orders of Islamabad police chief Muhammad Aamir Zulfiqar, renewed efforts were made and police achieved remarkable success.Owing these efforts, 50 dacoity/robbery cases were traced and 97 persons were arrested besides recovery of looted items worth Rs.15.4 million including gold ornaments from them.Police also nabbed 74 culprits in 52 cases of street crime and theft and recovered looted items worth Rs. 16.4 million. As many as 14 persons were held for involvement in 16 cases of car theft while eight vehicles were also recovered from them.

Twenty-seven (27) bike lifters were held besides recovery of 19 bikes from them while 16 persons were held for their involvement in tempering of vehicles and 22 vehicles were also recovered from them.Police also arrested 195 absconders during the same period including 103 proclaimed offenders and 92 absconders.Moreover, Police held 229 accused for involvement in bootlegging and drug peddling activities while 99.209 kilogram hashish, nine kilogram heroin, 1.

310 kilogram opium, 698 gram ice, 10 gram cocaine and 1326 bottle wines were recovered from them.Islamabad police launched special crackdown against those involved in supplying drugs at educational institutions and nabbed six persons after registering four cases against them. A total of 5.150 kilogram hashish, 325 gram heroin were recovered from them.Police also arrested 112 persons for having illegal weapons and recovered three Kalashnikovs, four carbines, 97 pistols and 785 rounds from them.

Two blind murders cases were traced and two persons involved in these case were nabbed during the reporting period.During special campaign against professional alm seekers, 943 beggars were arrested while 30 habitual culprits were also held during same period. Twenty persons were nabbed red-handed when they were planning to commit dacoities.Three foreigners were also arrested under foreigners' act who were residing illegally in the country. Seven culprits were caught involved in aerial firing and six cases were registered against them.DIG (Operations) Waqar Ud din Syed has said that criminal elements would not to be spared and those involved in such acts would have to face action as per law.He has also appealed the citizens to cooperate with Islamabad in curbing activities of such elements.
