Over 1,300 Syrians Returned Home From Abroad Over Past 24 Hours - Russian Military

More than 1,300 Syrian refugees returned to their home country from Jordan and Lebanon over the past 24 hours, the Russian Defense Ministry's Center for the Reception, Allocation and Accommodation of Refugees said in a daily bulletin on Saturday

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 16th February, 2019) More than 1,300 Syrian refugees returned to their home country from Jordan and Lebanon over the past 24 hours, the Russian Defense Ministry's Center for the Reception, Allocation and Accommodation of Refugees said in a daily bulletin on Saturday.

"Over the past day, a total of 1,309 refugees returned to the Syrian Arab Republic from the territory of foreign states: 297 people (89 women and 152 children) left Lebanon for Syria via the Jaydet-Yabus and Talkalakh checkpoints, and 1,012 people (304 women and 516 children) from Jordan via the Nasib checkpoint," the center said in its daily bulletin.

According to the statement, 40 internally displaced Syrians returned to their homes over the same period.

According to the center, the Syrian engineering units have cleared 2.5 hectares (6.2 acres) of the Syrian territory from mines, destroying 29 explosive devices.
