Vostochny Bank, One Shareholder Recognized as Victims in Micheal Calvey's Case - Lawyer

The Vostochny Bank and its minority stakeholder Sherzod Yusupov were recognized as victims in the Baring Vostok investment company founder Michael Calvey fraud case, the latter's lawyer said on Saturday

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 16th February, 2019) The Vostochny Bank and its minority stakeholder Sherzod Yusupov were recognized as victims in the Baring Vostok investment company founder Michael Calvey fraud case, the latter's lawyer said on Saturday.

"The bank and its shareholder Yusupov were recognized as victims in the case," the lawyer said in Moscow's Basmanny court, which is making a decision on possible arrest of Calvey now.

Calvey, who was detained on Friday on suspicion of a large-scale fraud, denied involvement in embezzling 2.5 billion rubles ($37.5 million) from Vostochny Bank. Moscow's Basmanny court extended his detention for 72 hours.
