Turkey's Erdogan Demands International Trial For Khashoggi's Killers

ANKARA (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 16th February, 2019) Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Friday suggested taking the murder of Saudi dissident journalist Jamal Khashoggi to an international court.

"We have not yet filed all documents in the Khashoggi case [but] Turkey is determined to bring it to an international court," Erdogan told a local television channel, A Haber.

The president criticized the United States for seeming uninterested in the killing of the Washington Post columnist at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul last October.

US President Donald Trump has repeatedly condemned the murder but stopped short of accusing the Saudi crown prince of ordering it.

A UN expert on extrajudicial killings who traveled to Istanbul last week for an independent probe has pointed the finger at Saudi officials, who she said planned and perpetrated the brutal murder.
