MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 16th February, 2019) The Russian Football Union (RFU) has submitted application to host UEFA Champions League final at a stadium in Russia's St. Petersburg in 2021, RFU General Secretary Aleksandr Alaev said on Friday.
The stadium, which hosted the matches of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, including one of the semifinals and a match for third place, will compete for the opportunity to hold the final match of UEFA Champions League with the home arena of Germany's Bayern Munich.
The decision on the venue of the final will be made by the UEFA Executive Committee in May or June 2019.
