MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 15th February, 2019) Russia will for the first time present its Pantsir-ME anti-aircraft system, 12.7-millimeter caliber assault rifle system SHAK-12 and the 200th series Kalashnikov assault rifles in a foreign setting at the IDEX-2019 arms exhibition in the United Arab Emirates next week, Viktor Kladov, director for international cooperation at state corporation Rostec, told Sputnik in an interview.

IDEX-2019 is scheduled to be held in Abu Dhabi on February 17-21.

"We will present the Pantsir-ME naval air defense system for the first time abroad at the exhibition in Abu Dhabi ... A 12.7-millimeter caliber assault rifle system SHAK-12 will also be shown there, as well as the modified GP-30M grenade launcher. I believe that Kalashnikov assault rifles of the 200th series will steal the show," Kladov said.

He recalled that the Pantsir-ME system was first showcased in 2017 at a naval show in St. Petersburg.

The new Kalashnikov rifles have successfully passed all tests and meet all the requirements for modern weapons, the top manager added.

The Pantsir-ME, which can be installed on ships with a displacement above 300 tonnes, is capable of simultaneously attacking up to four targets flying at speeds of up to 1 kilometer (0.62 miles) per second, with a reaction time from three to five seconds. The naval export version of Pantsir can hit targets with missiles at a range of up to 12.4 miles and at a height of up to 9.3 miles.

The AK-200 Kalashnikov assault rifles retained all the advantages of the traditional AK scheme, namely their reliability, durability and ease of maintenance. Integrating Picatinny rail into the rifle design allows users to install necessary equipment to effectively use the weapons in various conditions.

The SHAK-12 is a modern model of a highly effective heavy assault automatic system for special forces. Its main objective is to quickly and effectively defeat opponents, including those using body armor or protective covers.
