SAFRON Federal Minister Briefed About WAPDA Projects In Balochistan

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 03rd Nov, 2016 ) : Federal Minister for States and Frontier Regions (SAFRON), Lt Gen Abdul Qadir Baloch (R) Thursday visited WAPDA House and had a meeting with Chairman WAPDA Lt Gen Muzammil Hussain (R) to discuss the matters relating to projects, which are being constructed by WAPDA in Balochistan province.

During the meeting, the federal minister was apprised about the progress on WAPDA projects in Balochistan including Kachhi Canal, a press release issued here said. Chairman WAPDA said Kachhi Canal is the priority project for WAPDA, being a vital development scheme for socio-economic uplift of the far-flung areas in Balochistan.

In view of the significance of Kachhi Canal for Balochistan, WAPDA is making utmost efforts to complete the project in the shortest possible time. The work on a component of the project (KC-4) is not satisfactory, hence, ran into cost and time overrun. Measures are afoot to restart the work on it also. The federal minister appreciated the pace of work on various ongoing projects.
