SOCHI (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 14th February, 2019) The United States should review its policy for the middle East region, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said Thursday following an Astana-format summit on Syria.Rouhani, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan�met earlier in the day in Russia's Black Sea resort of Sochi to discuss the implementation of Astana agreements on peace process in Syria.
"The main thing here is that the United States in the past 20 years has played a destructive role in our region, in Afghanistan, in Iraq, in Syria and at present in Yemen. The role of the United States has never been positive," Rouhani said.
"We believe that the United States should change its mind and understand that the way to get the access to the region is not the one that it has chosen so far. It is a wrong way. And we constantly see that the US actions are not benefiting either the people of the United States or the people in the region," Rounahi stressed.
