QUETTA (Pakistan Point News / NNI - 14th February, 2019) Secretary General, Jamaat e Islami, Liaqat Baloch, has said that the non-electoral alliance of the religious parties on the basis of principles and ideology, with the spirit of national unity and unanimity was the crying need of the hour to safeguard the national security. He was addressing the Balochistan provincial council of Milli Yakjehti Council, at Quetta.The meeting was attended by Allama Arif Wahidi, Maulana Abdul Haq Hashmi, Abdul Quddus Sasoli, Maulana Abdul Kabir Shakir and others.

The JI Secretary General said there was a deep conspiracy to shake the ideological foundations of the Balochistan people by pushing them in a series of crisis. However, he said the mosques, madrissahs, shrines and the religious parties were a big force in the province and they could be helpful in the solution of the problems facing the people.Liaqat Baloch deplored that the Federal and the provincial governments were not ready to authorize the local bodies in accordance with the law and the constitution.

He said the last local bodies elections had been held on the orders of the Supreme Court but the political government had refused to grant due powers to the local bodies. He urged the Chief Justice Asif Saeed Khosa to issue directions for the grant of constitutional powers to the local bodies and for holding LB elections.The JI Secretary General also advised the federal and the provincial governments not to play with fire by withdrawing provincial autonomy granted under the 18th amendment. Instead, he said, the governments should make every effort to solve the problems price hike, unemployment and control corruption. NNI
