The plenary session of the US-led summit on the Middle East in Warsaw kicked off, a Sputnik correspondent reported.

WARSAW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 14th February, 2019) The plenary session of the US-led summit on the middle East in Warsaw kicked off, a Sputnik correspondent reported.

Polish Foreign Minister Jacek Czaputowicz and US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo are opening the session.

The conference is dubbed "Ministerial to Promote a Future of Peace and Security in the Middle East" and was initiated by Washington.

Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Egypt, Bahrain, Kuwait, Yemen, Jordan, Morocco, and Tunisia have sent their representatives.

Russia, Turkey, Iran and Palestine are not participating. Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif has criticized the event, calling it "anti-Iran conference," and slammed Poland for hosting the summit.
