NHA Withdraws Recent Increase In Toll Tax On Motorways

ISLAMABAD,UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 03rd Nov, 2016 ) : Senate Standing Committee on Communication was informed on Thursday that compatibility issue of E-tag and M-tag on the motorway has been settled and the recent increase in toll on all motorways except Islamabad-Lahore Motorway has been withdrawn.
The meeting chaired by Senator Daud Achakzai was informed by Chairman National highway Authority (NHA) Shahid Ashraf Tarar that a high level meeting chaired by the Secretary Communications Wednesday decided to withdraw the increase in toll on Peshawar- Islamabad Motorway,Pindi Bhattian-Faisalabad Motorway and sections of Faisalabad-Multan Motorway and old rates of the toll have been revived since Thursday morning.
On the issue of outsourcing of the recruitment process to recruitment agencies the committee gave the observation that there was anomaly in the new recruitment policy and the service rules. The members of the committee said that the staff of the concerned departments should themselves hold tests and interviews of for new recruitment as they better know the requirements.
Later the committee was given briefing on the Postal Service Budget 2016-17. The committee recommended that the government should pay the pension of Pakistan Post employees,so that it was improve its financial position. The meeting was attended by Senators Sajjad Toori,Kalsoom Perveen and Usman Kakar.
