Workshop On Export Of Apparel Held

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 03rd Nov, 2016 ) : Chairman Pakistan Readymade Garments Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PRGMEA) Jawwad A Chaudhry said here on Thursday that it was necessary to produce various items while keeping in view market demands.
Addressing a workshop on export of apparel, which was organised by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) here at a local hotel on Thursday, he said: "We will go ahead with the support of JICA and subsequently will be able to enhance our value added exports." He also thanked JICA for extending help and support.
Pakistan Hosiery Manufacturers Association (PHMA) Secretary Muhammad Ayub said that JICA's support and guidance was encouraging for improving out product development and product diversification.
JICA expert Hideaki Shimizu also highlighted the issues with Pakistan's apparel industry. Hedescribed in detail about the trend survey of international apparel industry. Another expert Hisao Nishiyama delivered his presentation on comparative analysis of Bangladesh and Pakistan.
In its note of thanks, TDAP mentioned that JICA's cooperation in apparel industry development could bring vital change in the export diversification. The objective of the workshop was to impart awareness among the participants about market diversification and skill development.
The workshop was sponsored by Trade Development Authority of Pakistan TDAP, PHMA, PREGMEA and ministry of Textile industry.
