Shipping Activity At Port Qasim

KARACHI (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 03rd Nov, 2016 ) : Shipping activity remained active at the port where three ships Atlantic Glory, Al-Mehboobah and Gas Esco carrying Chemicals and LPG were allotted at Multi Purpose Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and SSGC LPG Terminal respectively on Wednesday.

Berth occupancy was managed at the Port at 47% on Wednesday where a total of seven ships namely ships C.V CMA CGM Thames, M.V Bos Anggel, M.V Bonanza YR, M.T Atlantic Glory, M.T Al-Mehboobah, M.T Brizo and M.T Gas Esco were occupied PQA berths to load/offload containers, cement, project cargo, canola seeds, chemicals, diesel oil and LPG respectively during last 24 hours.

Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood 59,731 tonnes, conprising 36,600 tonnes import cargo and 29,131 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 1,092 containers TEUs (50imports TUEs & 1,042 TUEs exports) was handled at the Port.

Two ships, containers vessel CMA CGM Thames and oil tanker brizo sailed out to sea on Thursday morning, while another chemicals carrier Al-mehboobah is expected to sail on same day afternoon. Three ships C.V Mehuin, M.T Bneider and M.T As-Olivia carrying containers, diesel oil and phosphoric Acid are expected to take berths at Container Terminal, FOTCO Terminal and Engro Terminal respectively on Thursday.

While two more container ships Sun Francisca and Hansa Africa are dua to arrive at poet Qasim on Friday, 4th November-2016. APP/msq/msk/bmq
