Stalls Being Reserved For Women At Sudnay Bazaars: Minister

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 03rd Nov, 2016 ) : Punjab Minister for Women Development Hameeda Waheed-ud-Din has said that stalls are being reserved for women at Sunday and Sastay bazaars across the province.
She was talking to a delegation of Women Chambers of Commerce and Industry (WCCI), led by its President Shazia Suleman, here on Thursday. The minister said the government attaches high priority to empowerment of women and for the purpose, a number of steps have been taken.
She said that in addition to establishing business facilitation centres, Women Expo is also being arranged.
She maintained that under interest-free loans scheme, more than 54% women have been provided loans.
She said the main objective behind setting up of Women Development Department is to safeguard woman rights and ensure implementation of measures in this regard. The minister lauded cooperation of women chambers regarding setting up of stalls for women at Sunday and Sastay bazaars and research study to collect data of women vendors.
