12 Killed,134 Injured As Vehicles Collide On Motorway

HAFIZABAD, Nov 3 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 03rd Nov, 2016 ) : Twelve people were killed and 134 others injured when more than a dozen vehicles collided into each other due to dense fog on motorway near here on Thursday early morning.
According to police sources, Lahore-bound vehicles carrying 146 people rammed into two trucks going ahead of them and overturned near Chauntra village on M-2 motorway. As a result, nine people were killed on the spot while three died in Pindi Bhattian and Allied Hospital Faisalabad.
The victims were identified as Hamad, Safdar, Mukhtar, Khushnood, Zartaj of Noushera, Aamir, Ibrar Ahmad and Marwat while four bodies are yet to be identified.
Rescue 1122, ambulances of the health department, Pindi Bhattian, Sukheke and Sheikhpura rushed to the spot and removed the bodies and shifted the injured to Trauma Centre Hafizabad, THQ, and DHQ Hospital Pindi Bhattian and Hafizabad, Sheikhpura and Allied Hospital Faisalabad while 35 of them were discharged after first aid treatment while condition of 30 others is stated to be serious.
