Russia's Success in Organizing Olympics to Be Difficult to Repeat - Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov

It would be difficult for any country to replicate Russia's success in organizing Olympic Games, as the Sochi Olympics remain the best ones ever, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Monday

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 11th February, 2019) It would be difficult for any country to replicate Russia's success in organizing Olympic Games, as the Sochi Olympics remain the best ones ever, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Monday.

"I don't think it will be easy for anyone to repeat success of the Russian Federation in organizing and holding the Olympic Games, either summer or winter," Peskov said, stressing that the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi were perceived as the best games in the Olympic history.

In 2007, Russia won the bid to host the Olympic Games, which were held on February 7-23, 2014 in the country's resort city of Sochi. The International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach said following the competition that the event was excellent and Sochi had undergone "an amazing transformation" becoming an Olympic host city with state-of-the-art venues.

Chair of the Coordination Commission for the 2014 Sochi Olympics Jean-Claude Killy praised the results of preparations for the competition and noted that the Sochi Olympics were the best Winter Olympic Games in history.
