Sana Stars Peshawar To Win In All-Pakistan Twenty20 Women Cricket

PESHAWAR, Nov 3 (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 03rd Nov, 2016 ) : Sana Liaqat hits an unbeaten knock of 44 runs by guiding Peshawar to 109 runs victory against defending champion Mardan in the crucial tie of the All-Pakistan Invitational Twenty20 Women cricket Tournament being played here at Arbab Niaz Cricket Stadium on Thursday.
Director General Directorate of sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Rashida Ghaznavi was the chief guest on the occasion. Organizing Secretary Amjad Aziz Malik, Raham Bibi (Peshawar Green), Ambar (Karachi), Gul Nar (Mardan), Najma Qazi (Peshawar White) were also present.
Besides Sana's unbeaten knock of 44 off 51 balls with six boundaries, Salma Faiz hammered another cracking not out 40 runs off 23 balls with six boundaries, opener Aysha scored 42 off 28 balls with six boundaries and a six while Afsheen (14) runs were the other key contributors.
Thus Peshawar Green gave a target of 184 runs including 39 runs extra for the loss four wickets in 20 overs. For Mardan right-arm spinner Sadia claimed three wickets for 21 in her four overs spell, Aysha Qamar got one wicket.
In reply, Mardan was restricted to just 75 runs, with spinner Hira Khan claimed three wickets for 11 runs in her four wicket spell, played a key role.
For Mardan Sadia scored 22 runs, Rubab made 20 runs and none of the other batter could cross the double figures.
Nousheen took two wickets for 3.1 overs for just eight runs, Samreen, Sana and Roheeda took one wicket each. Thus Peshawar Green beat Mardan by 109 runs and cemented their position for the final.
In the second match Karachi defeated Peshawar White by 43 runs and confirmed its position for the final. Karachi skipper Ramin Shamim won the toss and elected to bat first by setting up 148 runs for the loss of five wickets.
Karachi skipper Ramin was the key contributor who scored 23 runs, Khurana made 20 runs and Sana scored not out 21 runs. For Peshawar White Mahnoor, Salma Khan, Neelam and Mahnoor Naeem took one wicket each.
In reply, Peshawar White all out for 105 runs in 18.4 overs with opener Salma Khan made 30 runs off 35 balls including lashed out five boundaries. Momina scored not out 29 runs with three boundaries, Mahnoor Aftab (10) were the key contributors.
For Karachi Yusra, Salmana, Shabnam and Aysha took two wickets each while Ramin got one wicket. Thus Karachi won the match by 43 runs. Hajra Sarwar, Sohail Zaman, Masood Afridi acted as umpire and Abdul Qadir was official scorer. APP/ijz/anm
