MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 11th February, 2019) The Korean Sport and Olympic Committee (KSOC) picked Seoul as South Korea and North Korea are bidding to co-host the 2032 Summer Olympics, local media reported on Monday.

Seoul was chosen over South Korea's second largest city Busan, located 450 kilometers (280 miles) southeast of the capital, according to the Yonhap news agency.

North Korea is yet to announce its candidate city but Pyongyang is seen as a certain choice considering its infrastructure.

At a summit in the North Korean capital in September 2018, South Korean and North Korean leaders, Moon Jae-in and Kim Jong Un, agreed to submit a bid to co-host the 2032 Olympics amid a warming of ties between the two countries.

South Korea and North Korea are scheduled to submit a letter of intent to the International Olympic Committee (IOC) on Friday.
