Russia Begins Exporting Poultry to China - Ministry of Agriculture

Russian Deputy Minister of Agriculture Oksana Luth said on Monday that Russia had begun exporting poultry products to China, while dairy product exports could start in the middle of the year

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 11th February, 2019) Russian Deputy Minister of Agriculture Oksana Luth said on Monday that Russia had begun exporting poultry products to China, while dairy product exports could start in the middle of the year.

"At the end of the last year, we signed protocols with our Chinese partners on the possibility of supplying our dairy and poultry products to China. Consequently, 23 sites were approved by China and our side for poultry supplies. The first deliveries have already started," Luth said at the Prodexpo exhibition, adding that the first exports of dairy products were expected to begin in the middle of the year.

Luth noted that experts from Japan were expected to visit poultry enterprises in the Bryansk and Tula regions in the first quarter of 2019. The inspections' success could facilitate Russia's access to the Japanese market, according to the minister.

The 26th International Exhibition for Food, Beverages and food Raw Materials Prodexpo is being held in Moscow on February 11-15.
