Asif urges PTI chief to have faith in supreme court

ISLAMABAD, Nov 3 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 03rd Nov, 2016 ) : Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Muhammad Asif Thursday urged Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan to have faith in supreme court and wait for its decision in the Panama case, without resorting to any agitation activity.

Talking to media persons outside the Supreme Court premised along with Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique, he said the counsel for Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif had submitted reply of his client before the highest judicial forum.

He said the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leadership had expressed complete confidence in the apex court, which was a constitutional institution. He said the PML-N leadership always respected the judiciary and played role in its restoration.

Asif said the PML-N would accept the court's decision, no matter whatsoever it would be, adding that all parties in the case should have complete faith in the superior judiciary. Terming the hearing of Panama case in the court 'welcoming,' the minister said the country would soon come out of the prevailing political situation.

Answering a question, Asif said there was no 'Umpire' other than the apex court and reposed confidence in it, saying "justice will prevail." Now, he said, the matter was in the court and Imran Khan's any attempt to exploit it would be considered that the PTI chief wanted to influence the constitutional institutions.

Replying to a question, he said the change was only possible through vote and it would not come as a result of any lock down, long march and protest. The minister appreciated the district administration and law enforcement agencies to failing the lock down attempt through an effective strategy.

He said the PML-N would continue to work for development of the country and take it forward under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif. Saad criticized the PTI chief of changing its stance and statements frequently and using derogatory language against national political leadership.
