China informed about situation in IoK: Deputy Chairman Senate

ISLAMABAD, Nov 3 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 03rd Nov, 2016 ) : Deputy Chairman Senate Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri has said that 24-member Pakistani delegation of different parties led by him during a recent visit informed China about atrocities in Indian occupied Kashmir and progress on China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

On arrival of the delegation at Benazir Bhutto Shaheed International Airport here Wednesday, Maulana Haideri told APP that during their 10 days visit they had briefed the members of the Communist Party of China (CPC) about pellet guns used by Indian forces and atrocities being perpetrated by the occupying Indian forces.

We also highlighted human rights violations by the Indian forces on the Line of Control and working boundary, he added. The delegation was invited by CPC which facilitated Pakistani delegation and arranged visit of the delegation to various places and major cities of the China.

The host CPC briefed the delegation in detail about China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project. Ghafoor Haideri said the Pakistani delegation stressed for establishing economic zones in major cities of Balochistan, which are on CPEC route and to provide resources for eliminating backwardness of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.

He said CPC also briefed the delegation about Silk Road which was an ancient network of trade routes for centuries connecting Malacca strait. The route was central to cultural interaction through regions of the Asian continent connecting the East and West from China to the Mediterranean Sea.

Deputy Chairman said the delegation was briefed about Sinkiang Province where Chinese government allocated $ 75 billion to uplift the area and bring it at par to other developed provinces. He said the delegation stressed on making Gwadar model city, adding Chinese authorities assured the delegation that they will take Pakistani and Chinese governments on board and get approval for more projects.

Ghafoor said Chinese warmly welcomed the Pakistani delegation which showed the brotherly ties between the two countries. The delegation included member of National Assembly Ameer Zaman, Jalal ud Din Jamiat Ulema islam (F), Naib Ameer Jamat-i-Islami Mian Aslam and leaders of other political parties.
