Pak cricket team attends dam fund-raiser in South Africa, Rs 3.7 crore collected

The signed bat and ball by Prime Minister Imran Khan was auctioned for 3 lac rand and 70,000 rand respectively.

Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 5th February, 2019) Donations continue to pour in for the Prime Minister and Chief Justice of Pakistan Diamer Bhasha and Mohmand Dam Fund.

A fund-raising event was held in South Africa in this regard. About Rs 3.7 crore were raised in the event.

This was the biggest fund raising event arranged by Pakistani community in South Africa.

The event was organised by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) South Africa chapter.

PTI Senator Faisal Javed, former cricket team captain Ramiz Raja and current captain Shoaib Malik were present at the event among other team members.

The signed bat and ball by Prime Minister Imran Khan was auctioned for 3 lac rand and 70,000 rand respectively.

The signed bat by Pakistan cricket team was auctioned for 1.5 lac rand while signed T-shirts were auctioned for 70,000 rand.

Senator Faisal Javed thanked the Pakistani community in South Africa on the occasion and paid a tribute to their enthusiasm. He also thanked the Pakistani cricket team and paid a tribute to former CJP Saqib Nisar for initiating the dam fund.

The Prime Minister and Chief Justice of Pakistan Diamer Bhasha and Mohmand Dam Fund has so far received Rs. 9,501,315,135.

According to the Supreme Court update issued on Jan 31, the donation includes the countrywide contribution of the departments, businessmen, students, individuals and especially expatriate Pakistanis.
