Govt permits Arab royal families to hunt houbara bustard

The government, instead of taking necessary measures to stop people from hunting them, is issuing special permits.

Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 4th February, 2019) The Federal government has issued 13 more special permit allowing Arab royal families to hunt internationally protected bird houbara bustard in Sindh during the 2018-19 hunting season.

The permits were issued to “a king and a president, besides crown princes, their uncles and cousins, and armed forces chiefs belonging to the ruling families of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Qatar”, a local publication reported.

One of those given the permit includes a person who is being tried for his alleged involvement in money laundering in Pakistan.

Hunting the rare species of birds and animals is a growing concern all over the world and the government, instead of taking necessary measures to stop people from hunting them, is issuing special permits.
