Lahore (Pakistan Point News – 3rd February, 2019) Some land grabbers have reportedly grabbed the land of a Karachi school name after Pakistani Nobel Laureate Malala Yousafzai.

The land grabbers have established commercial shops on majority area of the school.

A Government Girls Secondary School, located on Mission Road near Karachi’s Civil Hospital, was named after Malala Yousafzai to honour her services. However, shops are being constructed on major part of the school.

The school administration when asked about the commercial activity said that they were informed that only a canteen is being constructed here. However, shops started to be constructed here later.

Another clerk while talking to local media said that whoever raises a voice against the construction is transferred.

When the report was aired on local media, Karachi Director of Schools Hamid Karim took notice of the incident and termed the construction illegal. He vowed to take action against these illegal constructions.

The government school was named after Malala Yousufzai on February 6, 2012. Currently, 321 students are enrolled at the school.
